• Identify the roles & benefits of natural finishes in relation to sustainable design in order to make informed contextual design decisions in selecting building materials.
• Specify natural finishes for projects
• Identify the different types of natural paints & natural plasters and their uses in green building.

Stephen Michael Self is president of Able Ideas Consulting, owner of Sustainable Interiors and co-founder of Kansas Institute.  Stephen has presented nationally on topics ranging from energy efficiency, green building, sustainable business practices and comprehensive energy legislation. Stephen’s qualifications include AIA CES Registered Provider, RESNET Certified HERS Rater, RESNET Green Rater, Efficiency First State Chair and licensed General Contractor.
